Standard 20 ft ISO Container The Flexitank is used inside a standard 20 foot box container - turning it into a tanker. With capacities up to 24,000 liters, the Flexitank system can significantly reduce the cost of shipping bulk liquids.   The container must be in good condition, with a rated capacity in excess of the load to be shipped. It can be easily prepared to accept the Flexitank by lining with corrugated paper, and by fitting a bulkhead across the door.   Bulkheads & Tanks packed ready to ship... A major cost benefit of the Flexitank system is the packed size of the empty Flexitank. This minimizes freight costs to locate the equipment at the load point, and maximizes the product payload. With the average Flexitank weighing less than 100 lbs (45 Kg), they are easily shipped by common carrier or by courier. All Flexitanks manufactured by JKS International, include a standard fitting configuration, consisting of a 50-mm (2”) center vent with non-pressure relief cap, 50-mm (2”) fill/drain port, with elbow, 50-mm (2”) ball valve terminating in a standard male quick connect (Camlock) end, and dust cap. Additionally, all Flexitanks are protected for shipping and include individual tank number and safety labels for container doors. Some Flexitank fittings.... We are able to offer alternative equipment, including but not limited to, 50 mm (2”) hose, 75 mm (3”) fill/drain port, 75 mm (3”) hose and end caps, 2.5" BSP hose ends, 75 mm (3”) valves, pressure relief caps for the center vent, drain ports, wash ports, etc., etc. Additionally, we can supply adapters to connect the Flexitank to your current system. Many users have existing equipment which they want to match, and we would be pleased to quote specific items if you provide details of your current sizing, style, etc.   Flexitanks can be filled or emptied using standard pumping equipment. Please contact one of our service reps for full details. Wooden or Plastic Bulkheads? It is necessary to prepare the container to accept the Flexitank. The inside should be lined, and you will need a bulkhead positioned across the door. We are happy to supply either treated or untreated wooden bulkheads, or the new modular plastic bulkheads. We also offer the range of JKS Flexitanks with fill and discharge ports at either the top or the bottom, or if you have special needs, we can offer both options on the same tank. Filled Flexitank inside Container Our food grade Flexitanks are manufactured from compounds approved by the FDA or European regulatory agencies. The heavier weight coated fabrics are suitable for multiple trips, provided the Flexitank is handled with care at the loading and discharge points. It must be inspected and repaired as necessary. All reusable Flexitanks should be pressure and leak tested and re-certified prior to reuse. We will work with you to ensure your Flexitank is maintained in first class condition.
